Why PackAjo

  • Secure

Every member is verified with their BVN and bank before they can join.

  • Automated

Contributions are debited on schedule from the account you authorise. Nothing to remember.

  • Transparent

See who has paid, whose turn is next and where every naira went, round by round.

  • No more chasing

No collector, no reminders in the group chat, no awkward calls. PackAjo does the following up.

How it works

Four steps, then it runs itself

Setting up takes a few minutes. After that you don’t have to do anything until your payout arrives.

  1. Step 1: Verify who you are

Sign up with your phone number, then verify once: your BVN, two bank accounts in your name and a recent statement for each. Your name fills in from your bank.

  2. Step 2: Join or start a circle

Pick a plan and how often to save. Ask to join a circle with a free seat, or start your own and invite people with a link.

  3. Step 3: Authorise debits once

Link your bank account and approve a direct debit on your bank’s page. Each round, your contribution leaves automatically.

  4. Step 4: Get the pot on your turn

The order is drawn when the circle starts. On your round, the full payout goes straight to your bank account.

Na your turn

Everybody has a turn. Know yours.

Whoever starts a circle chooses how it pays out, and every member sees it before they join.

  • Fair draw

PackAjo draws who collects first to last when the circle starts, from a seed anyone in the circle can check.

  • Host arranges the turns

The host sets the order. Everyone sees their turn and must accept it before the circle starts, so nobody’s turn moves without their say.

  • New

    Everybody collects at the end

Save together for 2 to 24 months. Nobody collects during the cycle; at the end, everyone gets back all they put in, the same day.

Create your own plan

Your amount (₦1,000 to ₦1,000,000 a round), your people (2 to 50), your pace, your arrangement. The app shows The Pot and every member’s share before anyone joins.

Together

Saving is easier with people you know

PackAjo was always social. The app keeps the good part: your people, in one place, without the chasing.

  • Save with friendsAdd friends, find people you know from your contacts, see which circles they’re in, and invite them to yours with one tap.
  • A chat for every circleTalk to your circle in the app. Replies, reactions and read receipts, so you know who has seen the payout date.
  • Fill your circle in CommunityList your open seats in the feed, or post what circle you’re looking for. People react, comment and ask to join.
Blue ticks mean everyone in the circle has read it.

Ajo, upgraded

Ajo sweet. Chasing contribution no sweet.

The circle works the way it always has. What changes is who does the work.

  • The old way: Someone collects the cash and keeps track in a notebook

With PackAjo: Debits run automatically and every one is on record

  • The old way: You chase late payers in the group chat

With PackAjo: PackAjo retries, tries their backup account and follows up

  • The old way: You trust the collector with everyone’s money

With PackAjo: The pot pays out only when the round is fully funded

  • The old way: The order is whatever the collector decides

With PackAjo: The order is drawn, and anyone in the circle can check it

  • The old way: Anyone can join if they know the collector

With PackAjo: Every member’s identity is verified before they join

Security

Built so trust isn’t the risk

A circle is only as safe as its weakest member. So everyone is verified, every debit is authorised, and the money only moves when a round is complete.

  • Real people only

Names come from your bank, matched with your BVN by Paystack, so nobody can sign up as someone else. Both accounts must be in that name.

  • Documents checked by our team

Paystack matches your BVN with your bank account; PackAjo’s own team reviews your statements. Not shared with other members.

  • Encrypted where it’s stored

Your BVN, account numbers and statements are encrypted at rest, and every staff action is logged.

  • Debits you approved, at your bank

Direct debits run through Paystack, on a mandate you approve on your bank’s own page.

  • Your PIN for every money move

Joining a circle, linking an account or authorising debits always asks for your transaction PIN.

  • A draw you can check

The payout order is drawn from a published seed when the circle starts, so nobody can arrange it.

For circle leads

Run a circle for your people, without being the collector

Start a circle for your colleagues, family or church group. You decide who gets a seat. PackAjo handles the money.

  • Approve who joinsPeople ask for a seat; you accept or decline, with a reason if you like.
  • Invite with a linkSend an invite by phone, email or a link, even to friends who aren’t on PackAjo yet.
  • Earn 5% of every contributionHalf of the circle fee is yours for running it. Withdraw it to your bank whenever you like.

FAQ

Questions, answered

The things people ask before they trust a circle with their money.

What is an ajo?

A savings circle. A group agrees an amount, everyone puts it in each round, and each round one member takes the whole pot. After everyone has had a turn, the circle ends. PackAjo (or esusu) has worked in Nigeria for generations. We take away the collector and the chasing.

How does the money leave my account?

You authorise a direct debit once, on your bank’s own page, through Paystack. On each round’s date PackAjo debits the contribution plus the circle fee. You get a reminder before every debit and a receipt after it. PackAjo only debits on your circle’s dates, and you can see every debit in the app.

When do I get paid?

Your turn is fixed when the circle starts, by a draw anyone in the circle can check. On your round, as soon as every member’s contribution is in, the full pot is sent to your bank account.

What if someone in my circle doesn’t pay?

PackAjo tries their main account, then their backup account, and retries over the following days. The round pays out only when it is fully funded, so your money is never used to cover someone else. Our team follows up on missed debits, so you don’t have to.

Why do you need my BVN?

To confirm you are who you say you are. Paystack checks that your BVN matches your bank account, and your name on PackAjo comes from that account. Your BVN is stored encrypted and can’t be used to move money.

Who checks my details?

Paystack matches your BVN with your bank in a few minutes; PackAjo’s own team reviews your two bank statements, usually within one business day. Everything is stored encrypted and never shared with other members.

How much does it cost?

A circle fee of 10% of each contribution, shown before you join: ₦500 a round on Steady (₦50,000), ₦1,000 on Soft Life (₦100,000) and ₦10,000 on Chairman (₦1,000,000). It is added on top of your contribution, so the pot is always the full amount. Half goes to the member who leads your circle, for running it; half goes to PackAjo and covers payment processing.

Do circle leads get paid?

Yes. The member who starts and runs a circle earns 5% of every contribution in it, credited as each one lands. Leads see their earnings in the app and withdraw them to their own verified bank account whenever they like, once there is at least ₦1,000 to send.

Can I save with my friends?

Yes. Add friends on PackAjo or find them from your contacts, see which circles they are in, and invite them to yours. Every circle has its own group chat, with read receipts and replies, and the Community feed is where leads post open seats and members say what circle they are looking for.

Can I choose who is in my circle?

Yes. Whoever starts a circle is its lead. Anyone can ask to join a circle with a free seat, and the lead approves or declines. The lead can also invite people directly with a link, even friends who aren’t on PackAjo yet.
